š‘¾š’†š’š’„š’š’Žš’† š’•š’ š‘Øš’‘š’“š’Šš’

Hi there,

š“š“¾š“½š“¾š“¶š“· has arrived here in South Africa… and there’s something about this season that always invites a deeper kind of reflection.

š˜š˜µā€™š˜“ š˜µš˜©š˜¦ š˜µš˜Ŗš˜®š˜¦ š˜°š˜§ š˜š˜¦š˜µš˜µš˜Ŗš˜Æš˜Ø š˜Øš˜°. Just like the trees begin to shed their leaves, we’re also being called to release what’s no longer working in our lives — old patterns, habits, thoughts… anything that feels heavy or out of alignment.

And as we move closer to winter, there’s this natural shift into slowing down. A time to cocoon, to go inward, to rest, and to quietly start thinking about what we want to create next.

Because winter isn’t the end — it’s preparation. It’s where the groundwork happens for what will eventually bloom in spring.

And maybe that’s why…

Lately, life has felt a little overwhelming — and at times, frustrating.

Personally, I’ve been feeling a bit stuck.

Every day I’m working on ideas that come into my busy mind. I journal, I show up on social media now and then… but somehow, it feels like I’m not really getting anywhere.

Maybe you can relate?

The other day, I came across a concept called š“šš“Ŗš“²š”ƒš“®š“·. It’s a Japanese philosophy that focuses on continuous, positive change through small, consistent actions.

Instead of trying to overhaul everything at once, it’s about making tiny improvements that, over time, lead to real transformation.

And it really made me pause and reflect.

I have goals — big ones — but somewhere along the way, I’ve been feeling overwhelmed. And when that happens, I tend to stop moving forward.

Which is so easy to do when everything feels like too much.

But this is where Kaizen gently shifts things.

Instead of focusing on the whole mountain, it invites us to break things down. Start with the bigger vision, and then work backwards into small, manageable steps.

Daily actions. Simple shifts.

And then, every so often, take a moment to check in — what’s working, what’s not, and what can be adjusted.

Because becoming the best version of ourselves isn’t about perfection.

It’s about alignment.

It’s about being true to who we are — how we think, how we feel, and how we show up. When our inner world (our emotions, desires, and truth) aligns with our outer world (our actions, communication, and relationships), something powerful happens.

We begin to feel more like ourselves again.

But sometimes our emotions can overwhelm us. They can keep us stuck, holding us back from taking action or expressing ourselves fully.

And that’s where small changes really matter.

For example, if you’re on a health journey, you don’t need to change everything overnight. That’s usually what leads to burnout… and falling back into old habits.

Instead, ask yourself: What’s one small change I can make today?

Maybe it’s having one less cup of coffee.
Maybe it’s drinking a glass of water before your morning coffee.
Maybe it’s going for a short walk twice a week instead of doing nothing at all.

You don’t go from the couch to a full fitness routine overnight — and you don’t need to.

Start small. Stay consistent. Build from there.

Because those small steps? They add up in ways you don’t always see immediately… but they do create real change.

And maybe that’s exactly what we need right now.

I am glad you are here.

Nichola

What are you not seeing that’s right in front of you? There’s actually a lot going right in your life, but your focus has been on the past—on old wounds and things that didn’t work out. It’s time to shift your perspective and start noticing what is good. Come back to gratitude.

Pause. Rest. Put the swords down. You don’t need to keep fighting. Take a moment to breathe and find peace within. For now, just allow yourself to let go.

Life Path 6 – The Lovers
Choices, choices. Take a moment to really check in with yourself. Is the decision you’re making aligned with what’s truly right for you? Whether it’s about love or something else, ask yourself—will this support you, or create more conflict?

Last month I spoke about the body–mind connection and how our bodies are communicating with us all the time.

This month, I wanted to share something a little more personal.

As some of you may know, I have health issues related to chronic Lyme’s disease. And over the past week, after a few months of being mostly free from recurring symptoms, I started experiencing heaviness and pain in my legs again.

It got me thinking… what is my body trying to get my attention on?

If we think about what our legs do, they help us move forward — they carry us towards where we want to go.

So with my legs feeling heavy and walking becoming a struggle, I had to ask myself:
Where am I resisting forward movement in my life?

And more importantly… why?

The truth is, I’ve been working on some big goals — the kind that really push me out of my comfort zone. And if I’m honest, there’s been a level of fear there. So instead of taking action, I’ve found myself hesitating… staying in what feels safe and familiar.

Stagnating.

And in a way, my body has been reflecting that back to me.

It’s almost like my legs are saying, ā€œThis isn’t working… you need to start moving again.ā€

Not in a big, overwhelming way — but in small steps.

One step at a time.

Coming back to that idea of Kaizen… small, consistent movement is always better than none.

Because over time, those small steps don’t just move you closer to your goal — they also build your confidence. And as your confidence grows, the fear starts to soften.

Until one day, what once felt overwhelming doesn’t feel so big anymore.

Inner Guidance for the month

For April, the card that came through is Orange – Nurture Yourself from Inna Segal.

When I look at this card, what stands out is the image of this glowing orange flower. The petals are almost translucent, with light pouring through them, while the base is darker—almost like everything is rising up from that deeper, shadowy place into the light.

The feeling that comes through strongly is rising from the ashes. There’s this sense that something within us has been heavy, maybe even stuck, and now there’s an invitation to gently lift out of that space—not by forcing, but by nurturing.

Orange, for me, connects deeply to the sacral chakra—the space of creation, emotion, and energy flow. It’s about allowing things to move again. Not pushing, not rushing… but softening enough to let life come back through you.

And this ties in beautifully with what’s been coming up recently around the body-mind connection and even the idea of Kaizen—those small, consistent steps. This month isn’t asking for big, overwhelming changes. It’s asking:
Where can you be kinder to yourself today?
Where can you take one small step that supports your wellbeing?

From the guidebook, orange carries energy that supports vitality, confidence, emotional healing, and creativity. It’s about releasing tension, fear, and heaviness, and allowing more joy and resilience to come in.

So the message for April feels like this:

You don’t need to force your way forward.
You don’t need to have everything figured out.
You simply need to nurture yourself enough to rise.

That might look like resting when your body asks for it.
Speaking to yourself with more gentleness.
Letting go of what’s been weighing you down—emotionally or mentally.
And allowing yourself to receive support, instead of always giving.

This is a month of soft strength.
Of rebuilding from within.
Of choosing yourself in small, meaningful ways.

And from that space… growth happens naturally.

April Nurturing Practice 🌿

Take a quiet moment for yourself. Sit or lie down somewhere comfortable, and gently close your eyes.

Bring your awareness to your breath… slow, steady, and soft.
With each inhale, feel your body expand.
With each exhale, allow yourself to release any tension you’ve been holding.

Now, imagine a warm, glowing orange light surrounding you.
It’s soft, comforting, and safe—like being wrapped in gentle sunlight.

This light begins to flow around your body…
Moving slowly… easing into your shoulders, your chest, your stomach…
Melting away any tightness, heaviness, or emotional weight.

Let it settle especially in your lower abdomen—your centre of creativity and feeling.
Here, the orange light becomes even warmer… nurturing… supportive.

As you breathe, imagine this light filling you from the inside out…
Restoring your energy… softening your thoughts… calming your body.

Stay here for a few moments, simply receiving.

And when you’re ready, gently repeat to yourself:

I allow myself to slow down and be supported.
I am worthy of care, gentleness, and compassion.
I choose to nurture my body, mind, and energy.
It is safe for me to receive.
I honour my needs without guilt.
I am restoring myself, one small step at a time.

Take one final deep breath in…
And as you exhale, slowly bring your awareness back.

Carry this softness with you into your day.
